Empowering Young Football Talents in Rivers State

In a significant step toward nurturing young football talents, officials of the Ogwus Youth Empowerment and Community Development Organization (OYECDO) paid a visit to De-Cardinal Football Academy, the academy arm of Rivers United Football Club.

The purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration and officially hand over release letters for two promising OYECDO players, Echikpu Salvation and Okpara Raphael, to the academy’s management. This gesture underscores OYECDO’s commitment to offering young athletes a platform to thrive and grow in their football careers.

The delegation, led by OYECDO’s Program Manager, alongside Eugene Okposuogu, Sports Coordinator, engaged in extensive discussions with the management of the academy. Topics ranged from the development of grassroots talents to forging strategies for strengthening ties between OYECDO and De-Cardinal Football Academy.

According to OYECDO’s Program Manager, “This partnership marks a crucial milestone in our mission to empower youth through sports. We are confident that Echikpu and Raphael will excel here and make us proud.”

The visit not only solidified OYECDO’s role in youth empowerment but also highlighted the immense potential of collaboration in shaping the future of sports in the region.
